The price of a website depends mostly on the number of pages, whether the design is made from scratch, who writes the content and which features it needs. Here is what drives the cost, and which costs come after launch.
The number of pages, whether the design adapts a template or is made from scratch, who writes the text and supplies photos, which features are needed (booking, a shop, several languages, login) and whether the site connects to other systems. A simple five-page site with a contact form is a different project from a multilingual site with a shop.
Domain and hosting cost something every year; with us the first year is included in the basic package. Updates, backups and monitoring are ongoing work covered by an operations agreement. Paid services such as a booking system, shop platform or email come on top and are billed by their provider.
Ask for a quote that shows how many pages are included, who creates the content, how many rounds of changes are included and what happens after launch. Ask who owns the domain, the code and the content, and whether you can move the site to another provider. Two quotes with the same price can cover very different deliveries.
A site you build yourself in a website builder can be enough for a new company that only needs to be visible. When the site has to bring in customers, the text, structure and technical quality decide whether it is found in Google and whether visitors get in touch. That is where an agency earns its fee.
